E01:S01 Why Two Photographers Started a Wedding Podcast For Engaged Couples (And Why You Should Care)

So, here’s the deal. We’re wedding photographers, Erin Morrison Photography and Brittany Sidwell Photography. We’ve been in the trenches with many couples in our photography career. We’ve seen the lipstick-stained champagne flutes, the “we just lost rings” moments, and the chaotic dance floor energy when the DJ drops THE song. And after collectively photographing hundreds of weddings, we realized something kinda big: Couples need real-deal guidance. Not just Pinterest-perfect timelines or “10 must-have sparkler exit shots” kind of guidance. The “I’ll be honest” kind of guidance that comes from vendors in the wedding industry. That’s how Aisle Be Honest wedding podcast was born. This is a wedding podcast for engaged couples.

Two Wedding Photographers And a Whole Lot of Hot Takes.

We’re not here to tell you what color your napkins should be (but also, go BOLD and live your life). We’re here to talk honestly about what happens behind the scenes of weddings. For example, why does your photographer want your first dance to last longer than 12 seconds? Or why hair and makeup costs as much as it does? And what to do with all that emotional energy after a wedding.

This podcast started because we wanted to take all the knowledge we’ve hoarded over the years (the stuff we talk about on the car ride home) and give it to you straight up. This is a “help us to help you” deal.

Who Even Are Erin and Brittany? From Newbies to Wedding Industry Professionals

Both of us have different origin stories into the wedding photography industry. One of us started at 15 years of age with a CD-ROM delivery system (yes, really), and the other dove into photography after getting married. Episode 2 explains more, but it’s been a journey for both Brittany and Erin, and we’re still loving it. This is true even when those summer weddings reach 98 degrees in the south.

Why You Should Listen to a Podcast for Engaged Couples?

If you’re planning a wedding (or even just thinking about it), we want to help you avoid the stuff we’ve seen go sideways. We want you to feel empowered, prepared, (and dare we say) excited about your big day. No gatekeeping. Just wedding professionals being radically honest so you can plan your wedding with way less stress and way more mimosas.

And if you’re in the wedding industry as a wedding vendor? You’ll nod along, laugh a little, and feel less alone in this beautiful, chaotic world of weddings. We welcome you, too!

So that’s Aisle Be Honest. Episode 1 is live on Spotify and YouTube. We’re talking origins of a wedding podcast for engaged couples.

This is just the beginning.
